Rattlesnake in Door Hinge

I listen to your show each week and enjoy it. Heard you talk about the car with roaches in it this morning. This prompted me to relate the following: My son-in-law, a Navy commander and coast guard employee, rented a car for business shortly after Hurricane Gustav. He drove to Texas and back to New Orleans, LA.

On his return trip from Texas he stopped for gas. Opened driver door when something caught his eye. A huge rattlesnake had wrapped itself in the door hinge. Apparently it was there for a while and no one knows how it got there. The car was parked in wooded area.

Needless to say my son-in-law jumped out, called the police and the rental company, advising them to pick up the car. He caught a cab home!
