Well, how about a road trip in a 70-year-old Dodge Business Coupe?
That's exactly what James is undertaking. Pretty cool, eh? We sure thought so!
You can hear his call to Car Talk right here along with Tom and Ray's advice about just exactly what kinds of roads to take, and how fast to drive. True to his word, James promised to send us some photos, and here they are.
Car camping in the Keys, visiting the Washington Monument, surfing on the Delmarva Peninsula. James, we're envious. Have a great road trip!

The 1938 Dodge Business Coupe, my travel buddy Cassie, and myself in front of the Washington Monument.

The southernmost point in the continental United States. Next stop, Prudhoe Bay!

Vapor lock by the side of the road, a depressingly common occurrence. Turns out, steel fuel lines are not very fond of warm weather.

American Steel near Gulf Shores, Alabama.

I usually pass at least two Wal-Marts during every day of driving, and only twice have I seen them closed. The first time was in Pennsylvania, and it was Christmas. This 9th Ward store has been shuttered for nearly three years since Katrina, proof that only an act of God can stop the Waltons.

Though I would like to think it was mere coincidence, as opposed to divine retribution for my impudence at questioning Click and Clack, this is the Dodge on its first drive after the show. Something snapped loose in the engine, and though an exact diagnosis has not been made, heavy clunking sounds from the engine block are rarely good. The car is currently holed up in Houston.
